Government of Canada Provides Funding to PCI Geomatics for Implementation of Commercialization Strategy

Gatineau, Quebec — January 21, 2010 — PCI Geomatics, a world leading developer of geo-imaging software and systems, is pleased to announce it was awarded $496,000 in repayable funding through the Business and Regional Growth program by the Honourable Denis Lebel, Minister of State for Economic Development. The funding is to be used for the implementation of an international commercialization strategy.

PCI Geomatics technology enables users to apply satellite imagery to a wide range of applications including public security, agriculture and disaster management. With a 28 year history of providing geo-imaging software and solutions to more than 135 countries, PCI Geomatics’ clients include government departments and agencies, municipalities, research centres, universities and private enterprises.

“The Government of Canada is devoting considerable energy to helping small and medium-sized enterprises increase their capacity for innovation and international market development. PCI Geomatics Enterprises is a concrete example of an Outaouais firm that has put its all into making the transition from research, to the marketing of highly-innovative products. We salute the outstanding dynamism of these entrepreneurs whose efforts are significantly furthering the diversification of the region’s economy,” explained the Minister of State.

PCI Geomatics plans to use the funds to invest additional energy in broadening its client base and increasing its Outaouais based staff by 2012.

The funding has been awarded through Canada Economic Development’s Business and Regional Growth program.
