Solido Design's SolidoSTAT Named a Finalist in EDN'S 18th Annual Innovation Awards Competition

San Ramon, Calif. - February 5, 2008 - Solido Design Automation, innovator of process variation solutions for transistor-level designers of analog/mixed-signal, custom digital and memory integrated circuits, today announced that its flagship product SolidoSTAT has been selected from hundreds of nominations to be a finalist for this year's EDN Innovation Awards. The Innovation Awards honor the people, products, and technologies that have shaped the semiconductor industry over the past year. SolidoSTAT, the first of its class transistor-level statistical variation design tool suite, has been selected in the EDA - PCB, FPGA and Custom IC tools category. Selection criterion is that nominees must have demonstrated innovation that resulted in a significant advance in technology and/or product development during the past 12 months.

"It is exciting that SolidoSTAT has been recognized by EDN," said Amit Gupta, co-founder and CEO of Solido Design Automation. "EDN's selection of SolidoSTAT as a finalist clearly demonstrates the industry need for a solution to address product failure caused by statistical process variation. Our innovative approach is also proven by rapid customer adoption."

Announced in September 2007, SolidoSTAT represents a new class of electronic design automation software that enables chip designers to gain insight into the effects of process variations on their design and to make the design more robust to these effects without over-designing. SolidoSTAT customers are able to analyze failures in their designs caused by statistical variation more quickly than by using Monte Carlo analysis; to identify weaknesses in the design; and to fix the design, making it robust to statistical variation.

During the month of February, EDN's worldwide audience of electronics engineers and engineering managers will use an online ballot to select the ultimate winners from among the finalists. EDN's editorial staff and Editorial Advisory Board also take part in determining the final winners. We encourage you to visit www.EDN.com/innovation18 to vote. Winners will be announced at a dinner and awards ceremony on April 14, 2008 in San Jose, CA.
