Magma Design Automation joins Si2’s Low Power Coalition

AUSTIN, Texas — (BUSINESS WIRE) — December 15, 2009 — Silicon Integration Initiative (Si2) today announced that Magma® Design Automation has joined Si2’s Low Power Coalition (LPC), an open industry group focused on advancing low-power design flow capability through open standards. Magma products are used for both digital and analog/mixed-signal IC design and implementation including, analysis, physical verification, circuit simulation and characterization. The addition of Magma to the LPC raises the total number of corporate members to 13.

“The demand for low power continues to grow across all of the markets we serve,” said Bob Smith, vice president of Product Marketing of Magma’s Digital Implementation Business Unit. “Our implementation system considers power requirements and implements low-power design techniques throughout the entire flow. The LPC’s focus on power-aware design throughout the design process, not in just one or two areas, is consistent with the Magma approach.”

“We are very pleased to welcome Magma into the LPC, working alongside other thought leaders in low-power design methodology to advance the LPC’s Low-Power Roadmap for the benefit of the entire industry,” said Steve Schulz, president and CEO, Si2. “The commitment and support of Magma gives evidence to the relevance of the LPC and its critical mission, such as the LPC’s leadership on tackling interoperability among low-power intent formats.”

The Low Power Coalition is an open industry group operating under the auspices of Si2. All interested parties are invited to join existing LPC members and participate.

About the Low Power Coalition (LPC)
