Tanner EDA Announces Strategic Alliance With SoftMEMS, Companies Work With Trident Techlabs to Support A/MS and MEMS Design in India

MONROVIA, CA -- (MARKET WIRE) -- Nov 09, 2009 -- Tanner EDA, a leading provider of analog, mixed-signal (A/MS) and MEMS electronic design automation (EDA) tools, announced today that it has formed a strategic alliance with SoftMEMS. The two companies are working together with Tanner EDA's distributor in India, Trident Techlabs Pvt. Ltd., to support customers in Bangalore, Chennai, Delhi, Hyderabad and Pune seeking proven solutions for A/MS and MEMS design.

"As electronic systems and semiconductor components get more and more complex, microelectronics has acquired a new applications dimension with the arrival of MEMS," stated Praveen Kapoor, managing director with Trident Techlabs. "Because of the growing emphasis in India on developing these system-on-chip solutions, we are excited about becoming the official distributor for SoftMEMS software products in India. We recognize that Tanner EDA and SoftMEMS provide unmatched functionality in MEMS design tools for our diverse customer base and are confident that their price-performance advantage will meet with our customers' approval."

"Our goal is to give our customers the best and easiest options for their MEMS designs," remarked Dr. Mary Ann Maher, CEO, SoftMEMS. "By joining forces with Tanner EDA's distributor in India, Trident Techlabs, we can leverage their expertise, and our customers have a single point of contact when it is optimal to use our MEMS environment with Tanner EDA's A/MS and MEMS software."

Robin White, Tanner EDA International Sales Manager added, "This relationship is indeed one of the best for our joint customers in India who use SoftMEMS along with our A/MS and MEMS software."

About SoftMEMS

SoftMEMS CAD Design Environment is used for the development and test of MEMS products. The tools are open-platform software products that support leading electronic design automation (EDA) environments used for integrated circuit (IC) development. Their tools allow data sharing among system designers, IC designers, process engineers and MEMS experts, permitting early and consistent design checks among multidisciplinary teams and allowing designers to easily develop new MEMS designs, integrate existing designs (intellectual property) into systems, and couple them with electronics. SoftMEMS design tools include MEMS Xplorer (for UNIX and HP platforms) and MEMS Pro (for the PC platform).
