The 7th China Digital Entertainment Expo & Conference (ChinaJoy), China Game Business Conference (CGBC) & China Game Developers Conference (CGDC) Joint Press Conference

On account of this, China Game Developers Conference (CGDC) will be held again this year, on July 24-26 at Shanghai International Convention Center. To help bring in the advanced game development technology, as well as experience and sound mechanisms in project management and talent training, authorities and trade associations have invited famous producers and developers overseas to give lectures. This is aimed to promote technology exchange and cooperation between Chinese and foreign companies and improve technology and know-how of the domestic industry.

The CGDC has now confirmed a 3-day program, covering 54 topics which will be discussed by 71 first-class experts in the game industry. Half of them are from Chinese game giants while the other half will be from abroad. For example, Mr. Mike Morhaime, the President, CEO and co-founder of Blizzard will give a speech entitled Ideas -- The No. 1 Life of games; Mr. Andrew Wilson, Vice President of EA and executive producer of FIFA series will "Share the Joy of Games with You". Mr. Kim Hyung Jun, Art Director of Ncsoft's Tower of Eternity, is going to deliver a speech named "Open a New Page of Art Design in Console Games -- A Beautiful New World". Other brilliant speakers include Mr. Mark Van Ryswyk, Senior Director of Global Outsourcing Business at EA; Xu Min, CEO of Nexon; Mr. David Kristofer Fried, Senior Game Designer of Ubisoft Shanghai; Zhang Lei, Senior Sound Designer of Ubisoft Shanghai; Mr. Dave Weinstein, Senior Development Engineer of Microsoft, etc.

Chinese game companies will also send their technology experts to share with the participants what they think about some of the technology issues, including Song Shiliang, CTO of Giant Interactive Group; Xiao Hong, Vice President of Human Resources and Administration of Wanmei; Hong Xiaojian, CTO of TLAGE; and He Xudong, Vice President and General Manager of the R&D Center of The Nine.

It will be rare that so many top technology experts from home and abroad can sit together for speeches and discussions. Their participation will not only make CGDC a truly influential game technology summit in Asia but also facilitate comprehensive and in-depth cooperation and exchange between game developers from across the world.

Without a doubt, CGDC has already become an important platform for Chinese and Asian game developers to get more deeply engaged in the global gaming industry. As a professional conference that has already received wide attention from game developers in the world, the CGDC, like the GDCs in America and Europe, has become an important and indispensable part of global gaming technology and development.

The Organizing Committee has also set up a "show for content display", for such areas as "game development tools, software and hardware", "start-up support", "outsourcing companies", etc. So far more than a dozen of the big game publishers and operators in China, including Shanda, Giant, Sohu, Tencent, Wanmei, Kingsoft, The Nine, and 9you, have promised to execute their support programs at the conference, holding business talks with small and medium sized enterprises and teams.

As ChinaJoy, CGBC and CGDC will be held alongside each other this year, in the coming July Shanghai is bound to become the center of attention of the digital entertainment industry across the world.

With participants from all over the world, professionals, technology experts, game players and media, this year will present a first-class event where the advances and success of China's game industry will be greatly exemplified.
