Auto-Cockpit Demonstration, Industry-leading Controllers and GDCs Delivering Best-in-class Infotainment, Graphical Navigation at Booth 819
Cockpit-Simulator Demonstration Features Next-Generation Standards and Technologies
In booth 819, Fujitsu will simulate a vehicle cockpit with the full complement of products and capabilities that support control-by-wire technology using the FlexRay(TM) standard and 1394-Automotive single-chip controllers for high-bandwidth, in-car networks.
The cockpit demonstration, which equips TFT/LCD instrument panels as a meter cluster, will show how Fujitsu in-vehicle solutions deliver a safe, convenient, comfortable vehicle that takes advantage of the latest automotive standards.
New Industry-Leading Graphics Display Controllers
In addition, Fujitsu will present the newest member of its proven graphics display controller series. The MB88F322 is a versatile, feature-rich device designed for today's most popular display-based automotive applications including instrument clusters, Heads-Up Display (HUD), Central Information Display (CID) and Rear-Seat Entertainment (RSE) systems. The device includes several advanced features that reduce bill-of-materials cost, form factor and system-level power consumption.
Fujitsu will also showcase the MB86R01, a highly integrated, compact graphics SoC that delivers industry-leading CPU performance for on-board and mobile navigation systems, graphical dashboard systems, HUD units, rear-seat entertainment systems, Point of Sale terminals, industrial control panels and embedded automotive graphics applications. 1394-Automotive Controllers Enable Powerful, Efficient Vehicle Multimedia Networks
The in-vehicle A/V network demonstration will highlight the infotainment and navigation capabilities provided by the Fujitsu IEEE 1394-compliant single-chip controller for in-vehicle multimedia networks. This demonstration will show how the MB88388A links together the TV, DVD, audio system, car- navigation system, rear-seat display and other information systems.
The device integrates the physical layer (PHY), logical layer (LINK), and the Fujitsu proprietary SmartCODEC into a single chip to provide a low-latency, high-grade, high-speed network. The Fujitsu 1394-Automotive controller is also being enhanced for use in an in-vehicle camera, which will provide a safer, more secure system by linking multiple cameras inside and outside the vehicle via a high-speed network. New 16-bit, 32-bit MCUs for a Wide Range of Automotive Safety, Body Control, Metering Applications
Fujitsu will also showcase the company's 16-bit F2MC-16FX and 32-bit MB91460 MCU families, which include MCUs for meter cluster, car body control, and car infotainment applications. The F2MC-16FX series combines the advantages of 16- and 32-bit architectures, using C-code efficiency that benefits from the 16-bit instruction set. Instruction pipelining, a technique widely used in the 32-bit RISC world, allows the 16FX to reach RISC-like performance. The broad F2MC-16FX lineup includes single, double and triple CAN-based controllers with ultra-wide internal bus bandwidths operating at up to 56MHz.
The Fujitsu 32-bit automotive MCUs are designed to control devices for meter cluster, car body control, car infotainment and FlexRay applications, using AutoSar-compliant drivers. CAN/FlexRay gateways let CAN's event-trigger processing and FlexRay's time-trigger processing co-exist for maximum applications performance.
