Foundation Software, a leading U.S. developer of construction accounting, project management and scheduling software, has announced the appointment of Michael C. Ode as President. As second in command to Fred Ode, CEO, Chairman and Founder of the company, Mike Ode assumes responsibility for the company’s day-to-day operations.

Fred Ode explained the appointment by saying, “As Foundation Software continues to grow and face new challenges, it is imperative that I bring in fresh, new leadership. Mike is clearly a person for that role.”

Mike Ode joined Foundation Software in 1996 and has held numerous positions at the company, including Client Support Representative and Regional Sales Manager. In 2003, he was named Director of Sales.

During his tenure in sales, the company experienced record-breaking increases in new sales and profits. Over the last three years, as the U.S. construction industry experienced lagging growth overall, Foundation Software reported sales and revenue growth between 14% and 25% each year.

Mike Ode credits the success to the company’s home-grown sales approach. As he himself did, all Foundation Software sales personnel are expected to complete extensive product training and spend at least twelve to eighteen months in client services as a phone support representative and software trainer. Next, they progress to inside sales, where they learn how to qualify potential clients and shadow the sales manager before taking on new sales territories.

“This sales approach has been a great recipe for success,” Ode said. “I feel confident in saying that none of our competitors’ salespeople have a better knowledge or understanding of their products, their companies, or the construction industry as we do.”

As president, Ode said his focus now is on the big picture at Foundation Software as well as helping all departments become more accessible and beneficial to one another. “Increasing revenue will always be my main objective,” Ode said, “but today we are looking at other areas of the company for new opportunities and growth in addition to new sales.”(more)A native of Buffalo, New York, Ode attended the University of Buffalo, where he majored in Economics. He and his wife, Sandy, reside in North Royalton, Ohio, with their 16-year-old son, Matthew. Ode’s hobbies include coaching and participating in as many physical activities as time permits.
