Arasan Chip Systems Goes Green at the 2007 DAC Conference in San Diego to Reduce CO2 Emissions by an Estimated 26,000 Pounds Per Year

SAN JOSE, Calif.—(BUSINESS WIRE)—May 30, 2007— Arasan Chip Systems, Inc. ("Arasan"), a leading supplier of reusable Intellectual Property (IP) cores, software, and associated design services, today announced that it is going to give away energy conserving Compact Flash Light (CLF) bulbs to show attendees who view their hardware demos at the 44th Design Automation Conference in San Diego (Booth 1272). Arasan decided to forgo the usual marketing giveaways and provide DAC goers something to use in the home to help conserve. By simply changing incandescent bulbs to CFL bulbs reduces energy consumption and provides energy demand relief to coal burning power plants thus reducing carbon emissions. Join us at DAC and join in the spirit of applying your engineering talent to creating energy efficient products and conserving at the same time.

"Our focus is to provide low-power IP for the mobile market. We believe engineering design creativity coupled with conservation will provide the best solution to our energy needs," said Kevin Walsh, Vice President of Marketing for Arasan. "The DAC community is all about creating new products, many with a low power profile. By giving away a product that conserves power, we want to bring attention to what everyone can do to help address global energy needs."

Arasan will be giving away 500 bulbs with a lifetime CO2 emissions saving of 268,524 lbs over a 10 year life cycle. This is equivalent to removing 23 cars from the road for one year. These numbers come from the energy savings calculator developed by the U.S. EPA and U.S. DOE and serve only as an estimate.
