The SP7648 uses a current limited minimum off time control scheme, which combines the high efficiency at light loads of PFM control with the high efficiency at full loads of PWM control. The SP7648 thus consumes a very low quiescent current, while delivering up to 700mA output current at efficiencies as high as 94%.
The SP7648 features True-Shutdown condition, which disables internal switching circuit and disconnects the load to isolate the current through the body diode. This feature eliminates leakage current from the battery and significantly reduces battery current consumption during shutdown.
The SP7648 equips dual reference voltages providing flexible circuit design and to optimize efficiency. With built-in internal 0.3 Ohms NMOS switch and synchronous rectifier there is no external diode needed which means the saving of space and a significant cost reduction.
The SP7648 device is designed to be the premier choice for Li-Ion battery powered devices, such as cell phone, PDAs, digital cameras, MP3 players and other consumer products.
