Munich, Germany – 12th November 2021 - The Design and Verification Conference & Exhibition Europe (DVCon Europe), sponsored by Accellera Systems Initiative, has announced attendance data for the 2021 event, showing that registrations reaching a record high of 465, covering 149 organisations and 24 countries. The show featured a full Virtual Reality (VR) 3D world, modeled on a conference centre in Munich and incorporating a stage showing the keynotes, plus rooms with poster sessions. The main conference, using a web-based conferencing system, offered four keynote speakers, plus a strong technical program with 24 papers, 13 tutorials and two panels.
In addition, 13 poster presentations took place in the VR world and were well attended, opening up a wide range of networking opportunities. Mark Burton, Virtual Platform Chair, explained, “This year we really changed the way in which people could talk to each other at the ‘virtual conference’ and it was very gratifying to hear from fellow participants that they had never experienced such a rich virtual environment”.
Sumit Jha, General Chair of the DVCon Europe steering committee, commented, “We are proud to have achieved a record high number of registrations and, since networking is an important part of DVCon Europe, we are very happy that we’ve been able to continue to offer those opportunities over the last two years.”
The award for Best Paper went to Ana Sanz Carretero, Katherine Garden and Wei Wei Cheong from Xilinx for the paper entitled, “Testbench Flexibility as a Foundation for Success”.
Best Poster was won by Caglayan Yalcin and Aileen McCabe of Qualcomm, for “An Analysis of Stimulus Techniques for Efficient Functional Coverage Closure”.
The next DVCon Europe will be held on 6th and 7th December 2022, with SystemC Evolution Day on 8th, at the Holiday Inn Munich City Centre.
