16/02/2020 - Munich, Germany -- Designairspace today launched P-4000 Bare Metal, a new plan for subscribers of its CAD in the cloud services which will give remote and freelance CAD workers unique access to a highly powerful machine. P-4000 Bare Metal will be available to subscribers in North America and Europe via three data centres, giving them maximum performance and minimum latency. The machine will allow designers to run huge rendering jobs in the cloud with programs such as UNREAL and Lumio.
Until now, remote and freelance CAD workers have been able to rent out space on virtual machines when using CAD in the cloud. This is when multiple 'computers' are running on one physical machine. However, the new 'bare metal' plan from designairspace means that they can essentially hire a high-spec machine all to themselves – giving them more power to work on complex projects.
A spokesperson for the German firm said: "The cloud is the future for CAD, but many designers worry that cloud-based software just won't give them the power they need. By provisioning a bare-metal plan, we give users far more power in the cloud than has been available before – which is more than enough for even the most complex design projects".
The spokesperson added that this new release provides plenty of other benefits too: "Being able to rent a computer of this power offers serious cost advantages to CAD designers. In the past, you would have to pay up front for a whole new machine. Our model lets you use cutting edge technology at a competitive price and you only pay for as long as you need".
P-4000 Bare Metal is particularly attractive for Architecture frims who want to produce stunning visualisations with the following kinds of BIM and architectural design visualization software:
- Lumio: https://lumion.com/
- 3D Studio Max: https://www.autodesk.com/products/3ds-max/overview
- Twin Engine from Unreal: https://www.unrealengine.com/en-US/twinmotion
- Enscape 3D: https://enscape3d.com
- V-Ray from Chaosgroup: https://www.chaosgroup.com/
The plan retails at USD $240.00 per month
In terms of technical specifications, the P-4000 Bare Metal plan gives users access to a machine boasting 1792 CUDA cores and up to 432 GB/s memory bandwidth. Server locations are available on both coasts of the USA and Western Europe. Other key features include:
- 30GB of RAM
- 8 x CPU
- 8 GB of GPU (Dedicated)
- 100GB SSD Disk
- Windows 10 OS
