MasterGraphics Returns to Its Roots as it Celebrates 70th Anniversary

Madison-based MasterGraphics Inc. sells its Autodesk® business to focus exclusively on the latest 2D and 3D print technologies

MADISON, Wis., Nov. 27, 2018 — (PRNewswire) —

MADISON, Wis., Nov. 27, 2018 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- After decades of growth and innovation to meet changing market needs, MasterGraphics Incorporated (MGI) will celebrate 70 years of service in 2019. MGI is a recognized leader in both Wide-format and 3D printing solutions with partners like HP®, Canon/Oce®, and Markforged®. The company also held premier platinum status as one of Autodesk's top CAD (Computer-aided Design) resellers for the past 30 years. Entering their 70th year, MGI will focus on industry leading color wide-format systems and disruptive 3D print solutions for additive manufacturing. As they continue to specialize in these rapidly evolving technologies, President and CEO, Michael Wilkes has announced the sale of their Autodesk business, MasterGraphics.aec, LLC to his partner Scott Bailey of Denver, Colorado.

Since 1949, the company has been the Midwest's leading provider of print equipment, supplies and service for architects, engineers, and manufacturers. To meet the changing needs of their clients, the company began offering CAD technology in the mid 1980's, quickly becoming the go-to resource for Autodesk software and service throughout the upper Midwest. "With our continued expansion in both divisions, it became clear the best way to serve our clients would be to restructure into dedicated, independent businesses," explained Wilkes. "I'm excited to announce that my partner Scott Bailey is now president and owner of MasterGraphics.aec. Under Scott's leadership, they will continue as a major Autodesk partner, focused on design solutions exclusively serving the AEC (Architecture, Engineering and Construction) market." Their market has recently expanded into Colorado and the Pacific Northwest through a merger with initial.aec of Denver earlier this year. Bailey commented, "This transition into two devoted businesses focused on print solutions and AEC design technologies will be a catalyst for each company to provide expanded and innovative solutions to our client partnerships."

Wilkes and Kevin Carr will remain partners in MGI's evolving print solutions business. Wilkes added, "I'm also proud to announce that Kevin has recently been promoted from general manager to president of this expanding MasterGraphics team." Carr is committed to focusing their expertise on additive manufacturing and wide-format print technology. "The renewed focus allows us to leverage our heritage, infrastructure and service team to implement these revolutionary technologies for improving client processes, quality and profitability," explains Carr. MasterGraphics entered the 3D printer market twelve years ago and quickly became a front runner in 3D print technology. This year MGI was awarded HP's 3D Print Service partner of the Year.
