The 55th Design Automation Conference is Coming to Moscone West Center, San Francisco

Premier industry event devoted to electronics systems design hosts three full days of exhibits, two pavilions, visionary keynotes, technical conference and more

LOUISVILLE, Colo. — (BUSINESS WIRE) — June 11, 2018 — The Design Automation Conference (DAC), the premier systems-design event where tomorrow’s technology innovations start, returns to San Francisco this summer with a packed exhibition hall and expanded conference program that offer deep insights into artificial intelligence and machine learning, automotive, IoT and other hot design topics.

The 55th edition of the venerable event, which is devoted to the design and automation of electronic circuits and systems, for the first time will fill Moscone West Center, from Sunday, June 24 through Thursday June, 28, 2018. DAC brings together designers, academics, researchers and vendors in a unique, collegial and thought-provoking forum, all under one roof for five days. The year’s event is chalk full of keynotes, tutorials, demos, panel sessions and training opportunities that attendees will leverage to learn new insights and hone their skills. There are number of ways attendees can access this wealth of knowledge.

With DAC’s exhibit pass (I LOVE DAC pass), attendees will have access to more than the 175 exhibiting companies along with a long lineup of activities spread across two levels of Moscone West Center. The first level of exhibits features DAC’s new Design Infrastructure Alley and Design-On-Cloud Pavilion made up of the professionals who manage complex computing resources and the hardware and software products and services that are required for design teams to accomplish their mission.

This level will also feature the Smart Systems Square, a centralized exhibit pavilion where engineers can interact with developers, network and platform providers for machine learning and AI applications.

The second level of exhibits will host the traditional DAC Pavilion, returning with a robust, thought-provoking program, the Designer and IP track poster sessions with daily afternoon receptions and the ever-popular Designer Track and IP Track sessions (Designer/IP Special badge is required). The second-floor mezzanine will also host DAC’s Welcome Kick-off reception on Sunday night starting at 6:00 pm, followed each day with afternoon receptions and the second Silicon Technology Art Show.

The third level of Moscone West will feature the keynotes, research panels and sessions, tutorials, workshops and training. DAC exhibit pass attendees will have access to the daily keynote sessions Monday through Thursday. For attendees interested in the research sessions, tutorials, workshops and training, there are many options for registration, such as all-inclusive or individual selections. Visit DAC’s conference program for more details: http://www.dac.com/.

DAC Pavilion

The DAC Pavilion, sponsored by Mobiveil, has become a tradition for attendees to enjoy daily SKY Talks (mini-keynotes), “fireside” chats with industry CEOs, intriguing panel discussions and tear-downs. This year features a new event on Wednesday, HACK ME IF YOU CAN: hands-on IoT hacking, providing training for the attendees to perform security analyses on embedded devices and improve their security. For a complete lineup of DAC Pavilion activities, visit: https://www.dac.com/events.

Design-on-Cloud Pavilion

The Design-On-Cloud Pavilion, sponsored by Google and Microsoft, will host Design Infrastructure Alley exhibitors and invited presentations each day of the exhibits. Presentations will start each day at 10:30 am and end at 5:30 pm. Presentations will focus areas of compute, licensing, storage, security and cloud.

Smart Systems Square

DAC’s new Smart System Square showcases solutions that enable your design team to efficiently detect data, decide what to do with the data and do something with it. Join the 2018 System Design Contest finalists, along with their sponsors Xilinx and Nvidia, at the Smart Systems Square to see the final contest demos on machine learning on embedded hardware platforms. Networking Receptions

After the exhibits close for the day, attendees and exhibitors can relax and network with cocktails from 6:00 pm until 7:00 pm on Monday thru Thursday. Each reception will feature light hors d’oeuvres, beverages and music as well as a continuing chance to meet with exhibitors and colleagues. The receptions Monday and Tuesday nights are sponsored by AMIQ.

Monday night’s reception will also host the second Silicon Valley Art Show displayed on the second level mezzanine of Moscone West Center.

Poster Sessions and Reception

Poster sessions allow attendees to interact directly with poster presenters in a small group setting. Monday June 25 through Wednesday June 27, the DAC Designer and IP Track poster sessions will open with a networking reception from 5:00 until 6:00 pm on the second-level exhibit floor. The Designer and IP Track poster sessions sponsored by Mentor, a Siemens business, and Chip Estimate feature more than 95 poster presentations.
