Mr. Miner to Lead the Firm's Information Technology Services Organization
PITTSBURGH, Oct. 2, 2017 — (PRNewswire) — Michael Baker International, a global leader in engineering, planning and consulting services, today announced that Martin J. Miner has joined the firm as Chief Technology Officer (CTO). In the newly created CTO role, Mr. Miner will serve as a member of the Michael Baker's Executive Leadership Team and lead all facets of the firm's technology, including the Information Technology Services (ITS) organization.
Based in Michael Baker's Alexandria, Va., office, Mr. Miner brings more than two decades of military experience and nearly 30 years of professional experience in leadership positions that span system development and deployment, operations and program management. He has extensive IT enterprise architecture, governance and program/project management experience with a strong focus on innovation, driving growth and creating differentiated value propositions for clients.

In his leadership role, Mr. Miner will utilize his diverse technology background to establish a holistic approach to building a stronger coalition of technology thought leaders throughout the firm. He will cultivate the spirit of innovation and the creative minds within Michael Baker to leverage existing technology and expand the firm's capabilities into new, emerging fields.
Prior to joining Michael Baker, Mr. Miner served in numerous roles at Leidos, the largest U.S. Government IT services contractor in the country. He joined the company in 1997 and progressed through several leadership positions of increasing responsibility, including the role of Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer. Mr. Miner also served as an Officer in the U.S. Air Force for 10 years, followed by 14 years in the Air Force Reserves, retiring as a Lieutenant Colonel.
Mr. Miner is an active member of his community, contributing his time to such organizations as Rebuilding Together, Hearts & Hammers, Habitat for Humanity, the Child Rescue Center and Mercy Hospital in Sierra Leone. He earned bachelors' degrees in Computer Science and Mathematics from the United States Air Force Academy and a master's degree in Operations Research from the Air Force Institute of Technology, Graduate School of Engineering and Management. He is also a graduate of the Executive Program at the University of Virginia's Darden School of Business.
