Functional Safety Tool Suite Provider Austemper Design Systems Names Srikanth Rengarajan Vice President of Products, Business Development

AUSTIN, TX -- (Marketwired) -- Sep 06, 2017 -- Srikanth Rengarajan, former associate director at Broadcom, today joined Austemper Design Systems, supplier of an end-to-end Functional Safety Tool Suite for system-on-chip (SoC), application specific integrated circuit (ASIC) and intellectual property (IP) designs, as vice president of products and business development.

In his new role, Rengarajan will be responsible for driving adoption of a tool-driven discipline and end-to-end automation for mission-critical, functional safety applications. He also will manage business relationships with semiconductor and electronic design automation (EDA) companies providing ASIC, IP and FPGA solutions. Rengarajan reports to Sanjay Pillay, Austemper's chief executive officer.

"Srikanth's background in functional safety and understanding of the industry's needs is unrivaled and welcome at Austemper," remarks Pillay. "We look to him to ensure we're delivering the tool suite to meet the exacting requirements of automotive and other safety-critical applications."

At Broadcom, Rengarajan led engineering efforts responsible for security and functional safety solutions for the connected vehicle, serving as an evangelist for emerging vehicular standards to support automotive gateways, advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS) and telematics. Previously, he worked at AMD as a product line manager for ultra-low power processors and as a product architect at Marvell. Earlier in his career, he worked for Intel, Ross Technology and Planar Systems in increasingly responsible positions.

Rengarajan holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology in Madras, India, and a Master of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from Oregon Health and Science University. He was awarded an MBA from the University of Texas.

"The growth in vehicular and IoT segments is confronting the semiconductor industry with an acute need for a full suite of tools to deliver chips that meet functional safety requirements," notes Rengarajan. "Austemper Design Systems impressed me with its strategic vision and solid implementation plan to provide such tools. I am pleased to be part of an exciting and fast-growing company."

Austemper is meeting the functional safety challenge with an automated, cost-effective and comprehensive one-stop solution that meets a variety of certification-oriented applications. The Austemper Functional Safety Tool Suite is in use by functional safety architects, design and verification teams and includes safety analysis, safety synthesis and tools to augment design structures and safety verification.
