Qlik Delivers Advanced GeoAnalytic Offerings with Acquisition of Idevio

Bolsters Qlik’s visual analytics platform by providing powerful map visualizations and location-based analytics for both Qlik Sense and QlikView

RADNOR, Pa. — (BUSINESS WIRE) — January 4, 2017Qlik®, a leader in visual analytics, today announced it has acquired Idevio, a provider of geographical-related software and services and a Sweden-based Qlik partner. This acquisition not only extends Qlik’s current mapping capabilities, but also moves its offerings beyond visualization with support for a broad range of advanced geoanalytic use cases. Using patented technology that compresses and streams mapping data, both Qlik Sense® and QlikView® customers now have the ability to expose hidden geographic relationships, offering greater insight, better decisions, and higher ROI. The terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Location, Location, Location: See the Whole Story in Minutes
Today, businesses increasingly have a need for detailed, comprehensive geospatial information – much more than what free services can provide. Idevio enables both Qlik Sense and QlikView users to easily add maps to their apps with automatic geo-data lookup to reveal crucial spatial information and then overlay them with different visualizations in order to see the whole story in their data. Users can not only seamlessly drill down into information dense maps that contain millions of points, but also use Idevio’s GeoAnalytics cloud-based service to analyze geo-data in combination with non-geo data for use cases such as determining potential store locations, understanding customer distribution of sales by zip code, or calculating supply chain delivery times.

How It Works: Answering the “Where” Question
With Qlik’s unique associative model, users can probe all of the possible associations that exist in all of their data, including geospatial context. In addition, customers can:

“Emerging technology such as The Internet of Things is – and will – produce an enormous amount of location-referenced data. Even as it gains a stronger foothold within our customer base, there is still a challenge to extract and use all that location-based data,” said Anthony Deighton, Qlik CTO and SVP of Products. “We want to be that partner that helps them analyze their geospatial data, and Idevio fits perfectly within our product portfolio. We are acquiring complementary technology that will enhance the value we provide to our customers as we further develop and bring to market these solutions.”

Product Availability
IdevioMaps, which includes Idevio GeoAnalytics for QlikView and Qlik Sense, has been rebranded as Qlik GeoAnalytics and is available immediately with tight integration to Qlik Sense planned for the second half of 2017.
