TUCSON, AZ (August 03, 2016) – HBM Prenscia announces today the version 12.1 release of nCode, the leading brand of durability, test and analysis software. nCode 12.1 offers improvements in functionality and performance for nCode DesignLife, nCode GlyphWorks and nCode VibeSys.
“This latest release focuses on improved performance and new capabilities for composites, welds and fasteners and vibration fatigue,” said Paul Roberts, nCode Product Manager at HBM Prenscia. “The updates in nCode 12.1 will allow nCode users to perform more robust and accurate testing and analysis.”
nCode VibeSys now offers options to perform Modal Analysis. These new features enhance FE modelling by providing reliable damping ratios outside of the natural frequencies, validate FE results by comparing modal frequencies with the experimental tests, and help troubleshoot noise and vibration problems.
“The addition of Modal Analysis helps engineers solve noise and vibration problems by answering important questions early on in the development process,” said Roberts. “nCode VibeSys can now answer questions like: What are the modal frequencies? What are the modal damping ratios? How good is a modal FE simulation compared to a modal test?”
nCode DesignLife has new capabilities for vibration based short fibre composite calculation, gray iron analysis and hot spot stress extrapolation for weld analysis from solid elements. The available static criteria functions for composite failures have been expanded in this release to include Hashin-Sun, Modified NU and Norris-McKinnon.
nCode GlyphWorks improves with many general usability enhancements and a new capability for inputting vibration datasets.
The new capabilities in nCode 12.1 will be discussed in a series of free webinars starting on August 25, 2016.
