Solido President Amit Gupta Joins Board
San Jose, CALIF. – May 25, 2016 – The Electronic System Design (ESD) Alliance (formerly the EDA Consortium), an international association of companies providing goods and services throughout the semiconductor design ecosystem, today announced its newly elected nine-member Board of Directors who will serve a two-year term.
Returning board members are:
- Aart de Geus, chairman and chief executive officer (CEO) of Synopsys, Inc.
- Dean Drako, president and CEO at IC Manage
- John Kibarian, president, CEO and co-founder of PDF Solutions, Inc.
- Grant Pierce, Sonics’ CEO
- Walden C. Rhines, chairman and CEO of Mentor Graphics Corporation
- Simon Segars, CEO at ARM
- Lip-Bu Tan, president and CEO of Cadence Design Systems
In addition, Lucio Lanza, managing director of Lanza techVentures, was appointed by the ESD Alliance board in April and Amit Gupta, president of Solido Design Automation, was elected to fill the remaining board seat.
The board was elected by the ESD Alliance’s voting members during the voting period that ended May 20. The new board chair will be elected at the first meeting of the new board June 2.

The ESD Alliance at DAC
The ESD Alliance will exhibit at the Design Automation Conference (DAC) in Booth (#1920) Monday, June 6, through Wednesday, June 8, from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. at the Austin Convention Center, Austin, Texas.
A longtime DAC sponsor, it will showcase its expanded mission and new initiatives to support the Design Ecosystem and host a DAC Pavilion (Booth #1839) talk, “Solving the Design Cost Puzzle: How intellectual property (IP) Fits.” Jim Feldhan, president of Semico Research, will address trends and issues driving the rapidly growing market for third-party IP Tuesday from 10:30 a.m. until 11 a.m.
