Hexagon Manufacturing Intelligence Enhances Shop-Floor CMM with TIBOX Ultra-Protective Cell

Apr 14, 2016 -- Hexagon Manufacturing Intelligence today announced the release of a customized protective enclosure for the TIGO SF shop-floor coordinate measuring machine (CMM). The TIBOX offers enhanced protection for systems operating in the most extreme workshop conditions, shielding against dust, airborne pollutants, oil particle suspension and other manufacturing environment contaminants.

The TIBOX is designed specifically to protect the machine but preserve the accessibility afforded by the unique cantilever design of the TIGO SF CMM. The TIBOX provides a complete enclosure without significantly increasing the machine footprint. Transparent panels allow visual checks from every direction, while openings on three sides give users full access to the measurement volume. Integrated lighting benefits operators working in dark or changeable light conditions, and a Signal Tower option offers long-distance machine status monitoring.

The TIBOX enclosure also allows easy access to the machine for both routine and more involved maintenance operations. It is fully-compatible with the TIGO SF’s integrated monitor and keyboard mountings. The jogbox is located in a handy position so user interaction and machine ergonomics are unchanged by the additional level of protection.
