Global Startup uSens Unveils Natural 3D Hand and Head Tracking for AR and VR at CES

SAN JOSE, CA and LAS VEGAS, NV -- (Marketwired) -- Jan 04, 2016 -- Consumer Electronics Show -- In response to the rapidly growing need for AR and VR development tools and native features, uSens, Inc., an Augmented Reality (AR), Virtual Reality (VR), and 3D Human Computer Interaction (HCI) technology provider, will showcase its advanced 3D hand and head tracking as well as its Super Reality, which combines AR and VR into one experience, at CES 2016. uSens will show all of its latest technologies in its HMD Impression Pi, and provide interactive demonstrations at CES Unveiled on January 4 and at CES Eureka Park Booth #81535, from January 6 through January 9.

Gaming and application input controls have traditionally required peripheral device support from connected game controllers, cameras, and other input sensor devices. uSens 3D hand tracking technology replaces the need for these peripherals; recognizing, tracking and learning from hand, finger, and head movements in the end users' real world. uSens' hand tracking solution will bring 26 degrees of freedom (DOF) with sub-millimeter accuracy.

uSens will release its first commercial 3D HCI tracking technology for both mobile and tethered AR and VR systems during the Summer 2016. uSens software will be included with the Impression Pi HMD, supporting third party developers as well as other HMD and software manufacturers. The Impression Pi will initially be available online.

Preceding the commercial launch of Impression Pi, uSens will open an early access Developer Beta Program in Q1 2016 and provide professional developer kits for Unity 3D, C++, and Java developers. This early developer access will support an array of high-end content developers making AR and VR games, medical and educational apps, and more. Developers will be able to apply for this program starting in February 2016 at the uSens website.

"Augmented reality and virtual reality technologies will accelerate into the commercial market place very quickly in the next few years. There's already a race to create the best VR content," said Anli He, co-founder and CEO of uSens. "Technologies like our 3D hand and head tracking solve critical problems facing mobile AR and VR developers and consumers today that are desiring more immersive and natural feeling AR and VR experiences. Our team at uSens is excited to contribute to the future of our industry."
