The City of Newark, NJ and software company GovPilot have announced a partnership to transform the way Newark citizens interact with municipal government services.

HOBOKEN, N.J., Nov. 30, 2015 — (PRNewswire) —  The City of Newark, New Jersey recognizes the importance of providing its constituents with technology that can improve their lives. They have already committed to initiatives like the "Firebolt" Wi-Fi network and its free "Art (of) Code" web development training program for residents.  Developing a user-friendly geographic information system (GIS) for their constituents has been an important goal. The objective is to provide the public with on-demand information via a map-based interface. Rather than build the platform internally or hire a 3rd-party to develop a stand alone system, Newark chose to implement GovPilot's user-friendly GIS mapping software-as-a-service.

Along with historic data about home sales, Newark officials will be able to view what type of foreclosure the home is in and all documents pertaining to that foreclosure, along with the lender and attorney contact information.
