Rasterex releases RxView & RxHighlight R17

Rasterex Software, a global leader within document viewing and collaboration, today released version R17.0 of their popular desktop viewers for Windows.

Version R17 is a major release, with AutoCAD 2016-support, Inventor 2016-support, strongly improved PDF technology and introduction of IFC-support, in addition to a large number of fixes and improvements.

RxView allows users to view & print more than 250 different file formats – without the design software installed on the machine. CAD drawings, 3D CAD models, IFC-files, plot-files, PDFs, Office documents, raster images and scanned drawings.

RxHighlight is the same software installation as RxView, but through the license file, it opens up for advanced functions like redlining, markup, file conversion, batch processes and text search & extraction, for collaboration between team members.

Perfect CAD!

The AutoCAD DWG 2016 format is basically the same as for the previous versions 2013-2015, but with continuous service releases from Autodesk. Rasterex updates the DWG-reader to keep up with Autodesk’s own release and update plan, but also keeps maintaining the backwards compatibility for legacy versions outside of Autodesk’s policies.

Perfect PDF!

PDF has become a de facto standard for exchange of information also within the CAD industry. Rasterex has replaced the PDF reader with a new and better one, based on the latest and best libraries available on the market. It is fast, accurate and flexible, and reads, renders and converts PDFs perfectly.

PDF overlay/compare:

The overlay/compare feature in RxView and RxHighlight has always been very popular. So far, it has only worked for vector files, for direct comparison of vector elements.
With the new PDF library, this functionality works also for PDF comparison. Open two versions of the PDF files, overlay the two, and get a visible view of the differences, higlighted with secelected colors.

Perfect Office!

By combining openly available automation components with the new PDF technology, it has also been possible to perfect the viewing quality of Office documents, like Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, RTF, and OpenOffice-documents etc. Eventually, Rasterex can offer the same high quality for office documents and PDFs as for the CAD and imaging formats.

Perfect BIM!

IFC is about to become a de facto standard for exchange of BIM-information in larg building projects. Rasterex is proud to present IFC-support as a new option in RxView & RxHighlight. A BIM ribbon tab has been added with specific BIM-related functionality. Users can pull up the IFC-model, manouvre through the model tree, retrieve relevant data for each part, walk through the building, explode the model, switch parts on and off, set transparancy etc. All within the same application as the is being used for the other 250 file formats.
