In Booth #1114: Renesas R-Car SoC, R-IN32M3 MCU, and RZ/A MPU Series Provide Innovative and Reliable Technologies, Tools and Support to Simplify Complex Design Challenges

SANTA CLARA, Calif. — (BUSINESS WIRE) — September 30, 2014 — Renesas Electronics America, a premier provider of advanced semiconductor solutions, is showcasing its latest ARM-based solutions at ARM TechCon 2014, October 1-3, 2014 at the Santa Clara Convention Center in Santa Clara, Calif. Renesas Electronics America will highlight innovative and reliable technologies, tools and support that enable embedded engineers to overcome the complex design challenges associated with developing automotive, industrial and human-machine interface (HMI)-based applications.

Learn more about how Renesas’ trusted ARM-based solutions are easing these challenges in the Renesas booth #1114.

Explore the integrated cockpit enabled by the R-Car H2 Systems-on-a-Chip (SoC).

Part of Renesas’ robust ARM-based R-Car Series of automotive SoCs, the R-Car H2 features the industry's first implementation of a Quad ARM® Cortex A-15 core and big.LITTLE processing technique using Quad ARM® Cortex A-7 and the first worldwide implementation of the Imagination Technologies PowerVR Series6 G6400 Graphics Processing Unit (GPU) in an automotive SoC.

This powerful combination delivers some of the best performance in the automotive embedded market, providing state-of-the-art 3D graphics capability for high-end multimedia infotainment and navigation automotive systems. The R-Car Consortium provides an advanced host of ecosystem partners and solutions for customers developing with the R-Car H2 and other R-Car SoCs.

Minimize system complexity and speed time to market with the RZ/A1 MPU and development ecosystem partners

Based on the ARM Cortex-A9 core processor and up to an industry-leading 10MB of on-chip memory, the Renesas RZ/A1 Microprocessor (MPU) Series offers an innovative solution to minimize system design complexity for rich HMI-based applications. Renesas works closely with its RZ/A1 ecosystem partners to bring engineers tools and support for the RZ/A1 MPU that accelerates their time to market. Some of the demonstrations available today include:

Accelerate industrial network performance and support multiple protocols with the R-IN32M3

The R-IN32M3 application system standard product (ASSP) delivers exceptional design flexibility and lowers system costs for a wide range of industrial network applications. It features an ARM Cortex M3 CPU, and hardware accelerators that improve network performance up to 5x faster compared to typical implementations, as well as an EtherCAT slave controller and Ethernet PHY built-in. This robust industrial network device is ideal for real-time networking communication in gateways, I/O controllers, PLC/PACs, embedded controllers, industrial drives and many other networked applications.
