Saint-Bruno, October 16, 2013 -- GEOMAP GIS America has been selected to implement a geographic information system to managethe distribution network of the City of Sherbrooke more efficiently.GEOMAP willhandledata migration and integration, interface with enterprise systems and the customization and configuration of the solution to meet Hydro-Sherbrooke’s requirements.
Currently, Hydro-Sherbrooke manages its electrical lines projects with a combination of different management systems ofspatial and attribute data. The lack of connections between their software and other corporate applications make it difficult to manage projects. As part of the mandate, GEOMAP will be in charge of the installation and configuration of a new GIS composed of three powerful software; AutoCAD MAP 3D and its electrical business model as the GIS for the management and modification of data, Autodesk Infrastructure Map Serverto view projects and data on the Web and M-Files for document management. Also, GEOMAP will also take care of the integration of their data and will provide technical support for a period of five years.
The purpose of the project is to provide more effective management of the electrical networks so, Hydro-Sherbrooke may, through the implementation of an integrated GIS system, manage existing networks, create new electrical lines projects and make realistic simulations. Hydro-Sherbrooke will be able to offer a quality service with more effective and efficient means.
