Si2 Announces Six New Members of the OpenAccess Coalition

AUSTIN, Texas — (BUSINESS WIRE) — September 17, 2013 — The Silicon Integration Initiative (Si2) announced six new members of Si2’s OpenAccess Coalition (OAC): Calexeda, Fractal Technologies, Lattice Semiconductor (NASDAQ: LSCC), Micron Technologies (NASDAQ: MU), PDF Solutions (NASDAQ: PDFS), and Qualcomm (NASDAQ: QCOM). There are currently 38 corporate member companies in the OpenAccess Coalition.

The OpenAccess interoperability platform is a standard application programming interface (API) and associated reference database that gives chip designers a common environment for developing and implementing software tools used for integrated circuit (IC) design. OpenAccess is based on an open and extensible architecture, allowing chip designers the ability to integrate and use the most effective design tools available, regardless of vendor. For the past decade, many of world’s most complex digital, analog, and mixed signal IC designs have been created using the OpenAccess platform. OpenAccess Coalition members set the direction on the new features added into the API and the reference database. Additional information on the OAC can be found here: http://www.si2.org/?page=69

“OpenAccess continues to offer strong and increasing value that spans the semiconductor supply chain, as evidenced by these new members,” said Steve Schulz, president and chief executive officer of Si2. “New features like the common scripting framework, multi-threading, and multi-patterning, as well as ongoing capacity and performance improvements benefit everyone using the OpenAccess ecosystem. We are very pleased that these companies have joined the OAC and are committed to bringing their special knowledge into the Coalition to support the future needs of industry.”

To see the latest information on OpenAccess, as well as other Si2 projects, please attend the 18th Si2 Conference, to be held October 8th in Santa Clara, CA. The agenda and registration information can be found here: http://www.si2.org/?page=1384
