"The EDA industry began an unprecedented period of electronics innovation over 50 years ago. This sure-to-be-unforgettable party will gather members of our industry, past and present, to recognize and celebrate the significance of this achievement," said Kathryn Kranen, EDAC chairman of the board and president and CEO of Jasper Design Automation.
The EDA Oral Histories Collection and Exhibit at the CHM includes an oral history archive with transcripts, featuring interviews with key pioneers and contributors to EDA. These oral histories will be hosted online permanently as part of the CHM's Oral Histories Collection. In addition to oral histories, the CHM is very interested in acquiring significant hardware memorabilia from the EDA industry. Anyone arranging the donation of original workstations from EDA pioneers will qualify for free admission to the event.
"By raising funds to support the permanent EDA Oral Histories Collection and Exhibit at the CHM, we'll preserve the thoughts and stories of our predecessors while inspiring future generations of EDA innovators," said Doug Fairbairn, staff director at the CHM and long-time EDA industry veteran.
EDAC members and other past and present companies and academia involved in EDA are invited to sponsor the event and to donate items for auction. For more information on participating as a sponsor or donor, please contact Mike Gianfagna at bttf.event@edac.org.
