Five-GPU BOXX Workstation Earns CATIA Certification, Demos at Gas & Oil Expo 2013

AUSTIN, TX -- (Marketwired) -- Jun 11, 2013 -- BOXX Technologies, the leading innovator of high-performance computer workstations and rendering systems, today announced that their five-GPU 3DBOXX 8950 workstation has achieved CATIA® certification, joining an elite group of workstations certified by Dassault Systèmes to run its CAD/CAM/CAE commercial software suite. The occasion also marks the first time a computer workstation featuring more than two GPUs has earned such certification. Strategically partnered with Dassault Systèmes, BOXX is a designated SolidWorks Solution Partner, and leading manufacturer of CATIA and SolidWorks-certified workstations.

"At BOXX, we are committed to helping engineers and designers work faster and more efficiently," said Shoaib Mohammad, BOXX VP of Marketing and Business Development. "If you rely on CATIA, ENOVIA V6, SIMULIA, or other professional engineering applications, the multi-GPU performance of the CATIA-certified 3DBOXX 8950 will help you reduce costs while substantially improving completion times."

Featuring four dual-slot graphics, coprocessor, or accelerator cards (NVIDIA Maximus technology), three additional PCI-E slots, dual eight-core Intel® Xeon® E5-2600 processors, liquid cooling, and 512GB system memory, the versatile 3DBOXX 8950 delivers high-powered performance for advanced visualization, simulation and computation. The system certified by Dassault Systèmes for CATIA includes one NVIDIA Quadro K2000 and four NVIDIA Tesla K20 cards.

"Whether it's interacting with applications while running simulations, or designing while renders run in the background, NVIDIA Maximus technology in the 3DBOXX 8950 workstation enables users to increase productivity and meet critical project deadlines by multitasking more effectively," said Sandeep Gupte, Senior Director, Product Marketing, NVIDIA.

In addition to CATIA, 8950 is also an ideal workstation platform for ENOVIA V6 (a collaborative PLM application that allows companies to share and manage engineering and analysis data) and SIMULIA Abaqus 6.12 (a complete analysis solution for performing virtual tests with realistic simulation). 3DBOXX 8950 will demonstrate both of these Dassault Systèmes applications inside the Mecanica booth (#5619), at the Gas & Oil Expo 2013, at Stampede Park in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, June 11-13. Offering a wide range of products, services, and industry expertise, the expo attracts 500 North American companies and over 20,000 attendees.
