Attracts recognition for reinventing 50-year-old simulation software company
SANTA ANA, Calif. — (BUSINESS WIRE) — May 29, 2013 — MSC Software Corporation, the leader in multidiscipline simulation solutions that accelerate product innovation, today announced that CEO Dominic Gallello’s determination and success at revitalizing the 50-year-old simulation technology company have propelled him into contention for two prominent executive leadership awards.
Gallello is a finalist for the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of The Year competition for Orange County, California, and the “Stevie” Executive of the Year Award for computer software companies of 500 or more employees. Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of The Year recognizes both seasoned and emerging business leaders for bringing innovative companies to success. The Stevie – or American Business Awards – honors outstanding achievements and positive contributions by executives from companies of any size in a wide variety of industries.
“These nominations are a testament to the incredible efforts of the 1,100 talented employees of MSC,” said Gallello. “Delivering new, real-world behaviors in simulation to leading aerospace and automotive OEMs and suppliers is vitally important for increasing fuel efficiency, lowering carbon emissions, and making the products that we fly, drive and help build safer and more pleasurable.”
Since taking the leadership position at MSC in late 2009, Gallello and his team have returned MSC to growth and elevated the brand by dramatically increasing product development and innovation. These initiatives include developing game-changing, next-generation technologies in engineering simulation; forging relationships with 50 new solutions partners; acquiring FFT and e-Xstream engineering, two best-in-class companies in acoustics and composite material simulation; and forming unique partnerships with educational institutions and students worldwide.
