Recore Systems Joins Constellations Program, Adds DSP IP to Constellations Semiconductor IP Center

A bright star of semiconductor IP now shines alongside other members of the groundbreaking collective

Campbell, Calif. -- January 30, 2013 -- IPextreme, Inc. today welcomes Recore Systems as the newest member of Constellations, a collective of independent, like-minded IP companies collaborating to advance the state of the global semiconductor IP ecosystem. Recore’s Xentium DSP IP core is the newest addition to the Constellations Semiconductor IP Center, which features a broad range of IP products from participating companies.

“We are happy to join the Constellations collective,” said Paul Heysters, CEO of Recore Systems. “We want to take our Xentium DSP IP core to a broader market and increase our visibility in North America. We are confident that Constellations will help us to achieve this goal by enabling us to reach a larger IC designer audience.”

Constellations brings together an ever-expanding portfolio of semiconductor IP and EDA tooling in the Constellations Semiconductor IP Center. Designers can browse the IP Center for free at https://constellations.xena-cloud.com. To provide background information on the products in the IP Center, a new Constellations Educational Webinar Series will kick off next month, featuring fresh content on the second and fourth Thursday of every month. On February 28, 2013, IPextreme will host the first live webinar, focusing on ColdFire microprocessors. In the second session on March 14, Recore will address using the versatile Xentium VLIW DSP core as a building block for multi-core SoC design, or as a DSP accelerator core for general-purpose processing.

“Xentium is a worthy addition to the Constellations Semiconductor IP Center because of its excellent combination of small silicon footprint, computational power, and low energy consumption,” said Warren Savage, President and CEO, IPextreme. “Recore’s membership in the Constellations program allows us to further broaden our selection of high-quality IP and EDA tooling. This is a testament to the power of collaboration in our industry—it underscores how much companies are able to accomplish by working together to serve their customers.”

About Constellations

“Cooperate. Collaborate. Win.”

Constellations is a collective of independent IP companies working together at both the marketing and engineering levels to develop and promote advanced IP solutions. The program offers designers a broad IP portfolio in a central IP catalog. IPextreme initiated Constellations in 2010 and is the driving force behind the collective, serving as program organizer and facilitator.

Companies participating in Constellations offer complementary products, creating a comprehensive portfolio of semiconductor IP from which customers can develop complete SoC solutions. The program is open only to non-competing companies to encourage teamwork and cooperation—member companies work together, share resources to promote mutual success, and participate in events together. Constellations member companies currently include: Atrenta Inc.; Certus Semiconductor; IPextreme, Inc.; Sonics, Inc.; and Recore Systems.

Products of Constellations companies are featured in the Constellations Semiconductor IP Center, powered by IPextreme’s Xena IP management system. The IP Center enables members to easily catalog, distribute, and support their products. Each member company is given a private area on the Xena cloud with full access to all capabilities of Xena. Registered guests can browse all available IP and services in the IP Center for free at https://constellations.xena-cloud.com

Information on how to join the Constellations program is available at http://www.ip-extreme.com/partners/constellations.shtml.
