Sentinel USA Optimizes Oil and Gas Pipeline Assessments with TerraGo® GeoPDF® Maps and Imagery

Using TerraGo Publisher® for ArcGIS®, Sentinel USA Produces Intelligent, Portable, Interactive GeoPDF Maps

(PRWEB) October 18, 2012 -- Sentinel USA, an oil and gas utility industry GIS services and consulting provider, has enhanced the collection and dissemination of pipeline data with the deployment of TerraGo® GeoPDF® maps.

Using TerraGo Publisher® for ArcGIS®, Sentinel USA produces intelligent, portable, interactive GeoPDF maps for its personnel to take into the field and add mark-ups and comments as part of pipeline assessments. The updated data are integrated back into a database, allowing Sentinel USA oil and gas customers to access the latest information specific to their pipeline assets by downloading GeoPDF maps depicting the most current data collected by field personnel.

To optimize the previous paper-based workflow, Sentinel USA decision makers sought technology that would be compatible with the existing Esri ArcGIS platform, and be easy for non-GIS personnel to use. Sentinel USA chose TerraGo Publisher for ArcGIS based on its interoperability with its Esri software and the proven ability of anyone to interact with widely adopted TerraGo GeoPDF maps and imagery. In addition, GeoPDF maps are accessible in connected and offline environments using the no-cost TerraGo Toolbar® and Adobe® Reader®.

“The deployment of GeoPDF maps has streamlined our entire workflow process of data collection, validation and the integration into our enterprise GIS to facilitate both internal and external collaboration,” said Daniel Colby, president, Sentinel USA. “By using GeoPDF maps, we have created a more user-friendly process that makes it easy for our clients to access the latest information specific to their pipeline assets.”

“Sentinel USA wanted to enhance its workflow with technologies that promote accuracy and collaboration among all employees and clients,” said George Demmy, CTO and co-founder, TerraGo. “TerraGo software and GeoPDF maps met these requirements and enable the sharing of geospatial information within the enterprise, between organizations and disparate systems, peer-to-peer, to the field and back.”
