Pro Football Hall of Fame Selects Siemens Enterprise Communications

Pro Football Hall of Fame implements OpenScape Voice, OpenScape UC Applications and Enterasys network as part of its "Future 50" expansion and renovation

RESTON, Va., Aug. 14, 2012 — (PRNewswire) — Siemens Enterprise Communications announced today that the Pro Football Hall of Fame, located in Canton, Ohio, has named them an Official Communication Technology Provider. Accordingly, the first phase of the Hall of Fame "Future 50" expansion and renovation which opened last week, runs Siemens Enterprise Communications OpenScape Voice, OpenScape UC Application, as well as Enterasys wired and wireless network throughout the new and renovated facility. This announcement coincided with the annual Pro Football Hall of Fame Enshrinement Festival.

As part of its Future 50 expansion and renovation plan, the Pro Football Hall of Fame required a communications partner to match their expectation of excellence. The Pro Football Hall of Fame is an office, museum, retail and events venue, and so needed a communications system that would meet the needs of all its varied users.

"The foundation of our organization is excellence, so when we were looking for partners we knew we only wanted the best," said Dave Motts, Vice President, Marketing, Pro Football Hall of Fame. "Siemens Enterprise Communications has exceeded our expectations as a partner with both great technology and outstanding services. They've given us the ability to expand to the limits of our imagination with the museum and we couldn't be happier."

The Pro Football Hall of Fame selected OpenScape Voice and OpenScape UC Application for their scalability, as well as their outstanding productivity and convenience features. These unified communications (UC) features along with Enterasys Wireless let employees communicate and collaborate throughout the 118,000 square foot facility, while guests and those using the space for events can leverage the robust Wi-Fi infrastructure.

With a lean staff, operating with efficiency is paramount. OpenScape and its suite of collaboration capabilities enables users to connect with colleagues regardless of location, device, network or medium – be it voice, text, or screen sharing to increasing productivity. The implementation supports the mission of the Hall of Fame to honor, preserve, educate and promote and will improve the experience for the museum's more than 200,000 annual visitors.

"The deployment was fast and seamless," added Motts. "Before, we had phones; now we have tools that will help us work more efficiently and improve the experience of our visitors. Siemens Enterprise Communications fits perfectly in the Pro Football Hall of Fame."

"Siemens Enterprise Communications is committed to helping organizations like the Pro Football Hall of Fame run their businesses more effectively, collaborate more easily and get more done," said Chris Hummel, Chief Commercial Officer, Siemens Enterprise Communications. "We are proud to be partners with the Pro Football Hall of Fame. The decision by the Hall to select our voice, UC, and network solutions demonstrates the value of our entire portfolio to help a team operate with excellence and capabilities beyond their peers."

OpenScape UC Application is unique in the industry for its ability to provide comprehensive unified communications for up to 500,000 users. With OpenScape, users can share presence availability and exchange instant messages inside and outside the organization, to anyone using OpenScape, Google, or any XMPP-capable UC solution. OpenScape Voice, a SIP-based software application, provides enterprise-grade voice communications. It provides a full set of voice features and excels in the next-generation architectural areas of reliability, scalability and deployment options.
