August 04, 2011 -- 3D Laser Mapping, an international developer of laser scanning solutions, has appointed Adriaan Oeschger to the position of Key Account Manager. Oeschger, whose surveying background dates back more than twenty years, has worked in the mining industry and most recently for a distributor of survey, measurement and geospatial solutions in South Africa. Oeschger will join the existing team, providing support and development for key accounts across the region.
“This appointment was the next logical step in expanding our operation in South Africa,” commented Dr Graham Hunter, Managing Director of 3D Laser Mapping. “His dedication to customer service combined with first hand experience of surveying within the mining industry makes Adriaan the ideal candidate to work with our existing user base supporting their existing applications and developing new solutions.”
Oeschger was employed for almost fifteen years by Lonmin Platinum, the third largest and lowest cost producer of platinum, at their Karee mine. He trained and specialised in both underground and surface surveying, as well as the plotting of measurements and observations in CAD environments. Oeschger joins 3D Laser Mapping from Geosystems Africa, the local distributor for Leica-Geosystems, where he was responsible for providing frontline technical support, installation and training for a range of high-end surveying solutions.
“This is a great opportunity to join one of the fastest growing suppliers of laser scanning solutions in the region,” commented Oeschger. “I am really looking forward to working closely with a rapidly expanding client base to ensure all our customers get the best possible results and return on the investment in technology they have made.”
