July 26, 2011 -- 1Spatial, provider of intelligent data quality and integration solutions, is pleased to announce the appointment of a respected industry professional Mark Plews, to the new position of General Manager, UK and European Sales.

The new position will enable more focus on 1Spatial’s core data providers market and Mark’s initial objectives will be around developing strategic relationships and driving new business opportunities. He will sit on the Senior Management team and be responsible for delivering the overall sales strategy.

Mark has over 20 years of experience in the geospatial arena, having worked mostly with the UK public sector. He previously worked with industry giant ESRI and was instrumental in helping the company achieve record level of growth in the UK with ESRI (UK) becoming the dominant supplier it is today.  He held a number of positions at ESRI, beginning his career as a top sales performer and eventually becoming Sales Director. Most recently he held the position of Commercial Director, where he achieved notable success in generating new business and increasing software revenues.
