Arvada, Colo. – July 8,  2011 –  Pixxures, Inc., one of the nation's leading aerial imagery and geospatial firms, announced today it has hired Peter R. Briere as General Manager.  Mr. Briere brings his industry experience to complement and expand Pixxures' current product lines and services, including digital aerial imagery acquisition, orthophotography, remote sensing, GIS, surveying and value-added processing services such as change detection and landuse/landcover mapping. 

Based at Pixxures' headquarters in Arvada, Colorado, Mr. Briere will manage all operational aspects of the organization, including production, research and development, and new business development.  “Peter’s experience and contacts give us more flexibility to pursue Federal contracts as a prime as well as a subcontractor,” says Bob Johnson, President of Pixxures, Inc. “We are excited about what Peter brings to Pixxures and the whole geospatial team.”

Mr. Briere joins Pixxures after nearly 9 years with 3001 Inc, now Northrop Grumman, most recently as 3001's Civil Works Department Manager.  He served as Senior Program Manager for several Federal A&E contracts, providing remote sensing, GIS and emergency response services.  Prior to joining 3001 he provided support to USGS research efforts in the Everglades and Gulf of Mexico.  In addition, he has experience with groundwater exploration and development projects, both domestic and international.

Mr. Briere is an ASPRS Certified Photogrammetrist (CP) and Certified Mapping Scientist-Remote Sensing, PMI certified Project Management Professional (PMP), and Licensed Land Surveyor Photogrammetrist in the Commonwealth of Virginia.  He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Geology from the University of South Florida and a Master of Science Degree in Geography from Texas A&M University.
