June 23, 2011 -- Blom announces a new solution in geospatial applications with the official launch of BlomDESKTOP Viewer™; a front-end desktop application that views offline data, in a range of industry formats, and connects seamlessly to online hosted data via either external WMS or Blom’s online BlomURBEX™ and BlomURBEX3D™ platforms.
The desktop solution is a Windows application that allows the users to integrate layers, measure, visualize and work with the ever evolving collection of Blom imagery databases and customer own data sources. BlomDESKTOP Viewer™ has been developed based on intelligence from our customer base and research, into the current market requirements, producing a simple to use but intelligent viewer. Functionality includes the expected capabilities of visualization, geocoding, text annotations and the ability to overlay industry standard vector data. There is also the additional functionality of vector interpretation, measurement and imagery export out to geospatial formats such as SHP or KML.
The connection to BlomURBEX™ and the BlomURBEX3D™ hosted solution is extremely fast and stable via the BlomDESKTOP Viewer™. BlomURBEX™ and BlomURBEX3D™ are two online services provided by Blom, offering a revolutionary collection of geographical datasets showing urban environments with high-definition imagery and 3D textured models, accurately geo-referenced to fulfill both end consumer expectations and professional/engineering requirements.
