June 21, 2011 -- Aerial surveying company Bluesky has appointed Ian Dee to the position of Sales Executive. With more than ten years experience in the aerial mapping industry, Ian joins the UK based company from Bluesky’s joint venture partner Astrium, formerly Infoterra.
Reporting to the Sales Director, Ian will be responsible for developing sales of Bluesky’s innovative environmental data solutions as well as building on their position as a UK specialist in aerial surveying and remote sensing.
“Ian’s understanding of the market and his relevant experience are a valuable addition to our commercial team,” commented Bluesky’s Managing Director Rachel Tidmarsh. “He understands the production of complex geographic data solutions from the bottom up and can realise their potential for a range of real world applications.”
Ian joins Bluesky from Astrium / Infoterra whom he joined in 2000 as a Digitising Technician producing orthorectified photography from large format films. During his tenure with the company he held the positions of Sensor Planning Co-ordinator and Service Support Co-ordinator as well as Business Development Manager, he also recently completed a year long sabbatical working on a temporary contract with Telecom New Zealand.
Dee brings to Bluesky a wealth of knowledge of the UK geographic data market together with skills in identification and generation of new business, development of existing accounts and management of supplier / partner relationships.
