Gatineau, June 16, 2011- DBx GEOMATICS has implemented an interactive web mapping application for the Maison de l’Emploi in Marseille, France with their CartoVista solution. This public application ( http://www.mdemarseille.fr/carte-demploi) showcases the Marseille region’s socioeconomic statistics concerning employment. The partnership was made possible through the efforts of Géosignal, a partner of DBx GEOMATICS in France.
As a major player in the economic development of the Marseille area, the mandate of the Maison de l’Emploi is to coordinate actions between the many employment organizations and services companies that it partners with to support employment in the region. In order to share information with its partners, the Maison de l’Emploi required a user-friendly, visually attractive tool to display socio-economic and other data thematically. The web-based, highly interactive application was developed with DBx GEOMATICS’ CartoVista Solution. The website showcases the employment market in Marseille as well as identifying other organizations providing labour related services.
Visitors to the website can visualize the variation between geographic areas, compare indicators such as the level of education by area, the family status, the economical situation, the age and many others. Hundreds of the Maison de l’Emploi’s partners can be located on the map, including information with contact details.
Mapping the Marseille region is a powerful tool for the Maison de l’Emploi to strengthen its cooperation with its partners and develop shared information database and territorial strategy. The web application is easily maintained by the Maison de l’Emploi team themselves, making it a very efficient and up-to-date communication tool.
