VICTOR, NY, May 27—Telog Instruments, a leader in data acquisition for the water distribution and wastewater collection markets, today announced Telogers Enterprise 5.0, the latest version of the most ubiquitous data collection and information system in the environmental water markets.
Crystal Reports®
In response to customer requests, Telogers Enterprise 5.0 includes a runtime version of Crystal Reports application software. Users can run Crystal Reports .rpt files natively from within the Telog Enterprise Client (TEC), whether the files are created by Telog or by users with their own copy of Crystal Reports. When users create a new report, they can add it to the new Crystal Reports folder in TEC.
Enterprise 5.0 provides three ways to use Crystal Reports:
1. Choose one of the report templates: Group Daily or Monthly Summary, Lift Station Daily Rollup, Site Daily, Monthly or Yearly Flow Report, and some variations. Using these templates, operators will find it easy to select a site, fill in relevant information (such as time span, recording interval, and so on), and refresh the report to view it.
2. Import custom reports directly into Enterprise 5.0 from the user’s own version of Crystal Reports.
3. Contract Telog to create custom reports for the exact purpose the user requires. These custom reports can be used in Crystal Reports or imported directly into Enterprise. This service will be very valuable to customers who need to provide specialized reports to various stakeholders in a clean and concise format.
NOAA data retrieval module
A new add-on feature in Enterprise 5.0 allows users to retrieve data from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) and store it within the Enterprise database. Users can then incorporate the data into their reports to detect correlations between changes in their data and corresponding changes in the surrounding environment. With this new feature, Enterprise makes it easier for users to make informed decisions based on the interaction of environmental conditions and their own systems.
While NOAA data is available to the public, this new module streamlines retrieval of the data by providing a complete list of stations and the measurements currently available for each. The Enterprise module stores the metadata for each site, including its identification code, station name and site location, and the latitude and longitude coordinates when provided. The data is then stored automatically in the Enterprise database for future reference.
Online mapping feature
Users of Enterprise 5.0 now have the power to view the status of each site from anywhere that they can access the Internet. Telog Web Module v.5 includes an exciting new mapping feature.
Using the mapping feature, viewers can see their entire service area with a dot for each station in its exact location in the region. Each station’s dot appears in a color that corresponds to the station’s current status: Normal, Alarmed, Late, Low Battery, or Unknown. Users can click on a site and go directly from the map to the data from that site.
Maps can come from several sources: GoogleMaps®, open source maps, or custom maps that users may prefer to use. Any maps that conform to standard GIS formats can be used in the mapping feature.
