March 15, 2011 -- Today we announced the establishment of a European office to deliver ikeGPS mobile GIS systems to European, Middle East and North African (MENA) customers and partners. Surveylab CEO, Glenn Milnes, says he is delighted that the business will be led by Chris Jackson. Mr Jackson was formerly the Head of Strategy for Nokia and prior to that was VP Solutions for Motorola Europe. "Chris’ experience delivering solutions in the European and mobile markets is a great asset for growing Surveylab’s business in Europe, Middle East and North Africa,” said Mr. Milnes.
The timing of Surveylab's expansion into Europe coincides with recent ikeGPS mobile GIS product and solution announcements, notably 3D photogrammetry capability and sub-meter GPS accuracy. The ikeGPS platform now not only enables you to geo-tag an image of any distant object up to 1,000 meters distant, but it also lets you identify and calculate the dimensions, area and volume of nearly any object, and document and 3D model the target with highly accurate real world measurements. Initial end-to-end solutions developed have been for Pole Audits in the Utility Industry and Bill Board and Sign Measurement by Councils and Government.
ikeGPS is an all-in-one handheld solution for mobile GIS data collection featuring integrated laser rangefinder, high resolution camera, accurate 3D compass, PDA, and the ikeGPS measurement and integration software engine. Add the availability of sub-meter GPS accuracy, and you have a handheld device that does it all - GIS mapping of objects from a standoff position, verification photography, complex measurements made easy and 3D modeling. The industry leading ikeGPS system has taken the next leap in mobile GIS technology.
