Kineo CAM delivers its 1500th license to Promation

TOULOUSE, France, November 2010: Kineo CAM the leading software components provider for collision detection and automatic path planning announces to have delivered its 1500th license of its software technology to Promation Engineering, Canada.

Promation Engineering Ltd. is a leading designer and manufacturer of tooling, automation and robotic systems for the automotive and nuclear industries.

The highly specialized company from Ontario established in 1995 has developed long term relationships with more than 150 customers in North America including Toyota, Honda and Chrysler.

In 2005, Promation expanded into the nuclear industry when Atomic Energy of Canada Ltd. (AECL) contracted services to develop concepts, build prototypes, perform testing and manufacture sophisticated robotic tooling to retube and refurbish its flagship CANDU 6 reactors. Promation has successfully completed the design, development, manufacture and supply of a number of technically advanced automated machines and remote tooling to support AECL multi-billion dollar CANDU retube/refurbishment program.

Always looking for quality and productivity improvements for our customers’ projects, we have invested into the automated path planning solution from Kineo CAM specially for computing and programming complex robotic trajectory in cluttered environment in heart of nuclear powerplant” relates Narinder Bains, Vice President. “Our goal is to get a generic solution, flexible enough to be used in various projects; Kineo CAM has been able to support us with a high quality service during software integration and tuning of their technology to our digital manufacturing problematic”.

The first application of the 1500th Kineo CAM license has contributed to the automated computation of more than 3000 trajectories of a robot used in a confined nuclear environment for a project in Asia.
