Full Slate of Speakers for Carlson’s 3rd Annual User Conference, Nov. 7-10
MAYSVILLE, Kentucky, U.S.A. (October 27, 2010) – Those attending Carlson Software’s “Partnering You With the World” User Conference in Louisville, Ky., Nov. 7 - 10, will hear an international overview of where the land development industry is heading from three diverse industry representatives.
Francois Erceau, General Manager of Ashtech, will be traveling from France to be the keynote speaker at the Carlson User Conference, which is designed to improve the skills and enhance the businesses of those in the land surveying, civil engineering, construction and mining industries. Erceau, who has been in the GPS industry for more than 20 years, will be speaking at the event banquet on Monday, Nov. 8.
“I am thrilled to come to the Carlson’s User’s Conference and share the next steps that professionals will enjoy using Ashtech GNSS technologies and products,” notes Erceau. “The GNSS constellation is approaching a major transition to more signals and frequencies. This will expand the operating domains of GNSS receivers to make them even more productive in the field and Ashtech is working with you to pave the way to this brighter future.”
Carlson Software and Ashtech (formerly Magellan), producer of the world’s leading precision GPS and GPS+GLONASS products for positioning, guidance, navigation, and timing, have worked closely for many years. Erceau leads all product and customer-oriented activities including sales, technical support, marketing, and engineering for Ashtech.
Preceding Erceau in Monday evening’s agenda will be Don Kuehne, Esri CAD Products Manager working in Redlands, Calif. With 22 years of CAD/GIS/civil engineering software experience, Kuehne is a frequent presenter on the topics of CAD, BIM, and GIS interoperability and will highlight some of the aspects of the new interoperability between Carlson SurvCE data collection and Carlson Survey office design software and Esri ArcView 10.
“I am excited about this opportunity we have to meaningfully ‘Partner With the World,’” says Kuehne. “Like the GPS in my car, the promise of integrated GIS and design, ‘GeoDesign,’ can provide the system to help direct me where to go from here. Engineers, surveyors, and designers will make that possible by using the power of information to make better, more informed decisions, more integrated designs.”
Esri develops geographic information systems (GIS) solutions that function as an integral component in nearly every type of organization. On any given day, more than a million people around the world use Esri's GIS to improve the way their organizations conduct business.
The third speaker at Carlson’s User Conference will be traveling to Louisville from Australia to present at the Tuesday luncheon and represent both machine control and mining. Stephen Dargan is the Mine Electrical Superintendent at International Power’s Hazelwood Mine in Victoria, Australia. The mine annually excavates 4.5 million cubic meters of overburden and delivers 20 million tons of brown coal (lignite) to their customers using four Bucket Wheel excavator mining systems.
“I plan to discuss past, present, and future, with emphasis on GPS guidance, automatic machine control, and data flow,” says Dargan, who has been involved in the design, development, and implementation of control and automation systems for Bucket Wheel excavators over the past 20 years.
There is still time to sign up for the Carlson Software User Conference to be held Nov. 7-10 in Louisville, Ky., U.S.A. In addition to the welcoming reception on Sunday, Nov. 7, two full days of classes on Monday and Tuesday, the event will also feature on Wednesday, Nov. 10, a free Carlson Surveyor+ GPS demonstration and, for law enforcement personnel, a free overview of Carlson’s CSI Mobile and CSI Office for crime/accident reconstruction.
