TransMagic Achieves Certified Gold Status from SolidWorks

One Click TransMagic Solution Speeds Collaboration and Data Reuse; Adds CATIA and JT Read/Write Capabilities to SolidWorks Users

WESTMINSTER, CO – October 19, 2010 – TransMagic, Inc., developer of high quality, user-friendly 3D CAD data exchange software today announced that its TransMagic Po

werPack has achieved Dassault Systèmes SolidWorks Corp.’s Gold Product Certification.  This achievement signifies world class quality and value for users of SolidWorks® software and enables seamless collaboration across SolidWorks user company divisions.

The TransMagic PowerPack for SolidWorks combines the design power of SolidWorks software with the multi-CAD freedom of TransMagic to unleash true design freedom.

With the PowerPack installed, CATIA, JT files and more can be imported and exported seamlessly from SolidWorks software, eliminating barriers to collaboration.  TransMagic’s signature CAD Repair technology automatically fixes many types of errors, conditioning models to a higher level of accuracy.  One unique aspect in TransMagic’s PowerPack is the ability to save files into specific versions of key formats, such as CATIA or JT.  By specifying both file type and version number, precise compatibility with downstream applications is now possible with very high success rates.

Import – Modify – Export

With TransMagic XL-64 (64-bit), massive assemblies can be imported from different 3D CAD applications, modified in SolidWorks software, and then, saved in formats needed by other team members.  The single window integration with SolidWorks software eliminates the need for additional applications to address interoperability issues, simplifying data access and design delivery.

“Integration between key product design applications can shave precious time off of the development process and increase productivity,” said Nick Iwaskow, SolidWorks Manager, Alliances.  “Integrating multi-CAD interoperability and collaboration directly within the SolidWorks environment helps designers and engineers improve designs and deliver the products their customers want.  Engineers don’t have time to worry about software complexity or the problem of integrating data between separate applications.  Combining the multi-CAD interoperability of TransMagic PowerPack with SolidWorks 2011 3D CAD software enables engineers to focus on innovation, quality, and productivity instead of how to use other software products.”

“For many designers, it is about being able to rely on a product that gets the job done right.  There is a familiarity and trust between the designer and their program of choice.  TransMagic and SolidWorks continue to make that choice easier and create true freedom for the designer,” said Todd Reade, CEO of TransMagic.  “It’s frustrating to be interrupted during your creative process with something like file conversion.  With TransMagic’s PowerPack, file formats and common interoperability issues seem to disappear.”

Many Other Supported Formats:

TransMagic supports all major CAD formats including CATIA, JT, UG/NX, Pro/E, and many more.  In addition, TransMagic can export files into several useful non CAD formats such as STL, OBJ, PLY, HSF, PDF and HTML.  For a complete list of file formats and features, please visit www.TransMagic.com/products/product-specs.

SolidWorks 2011 is focused on optimizing core design functions so users can more quickly and efficiently achieve their goals.  These capabilities let designers and engineers work smarter and faster while minimizing menu navigation.  TransMagic PowerPack and SolidWorks enable designers and engineers to achieve premier 3D data exchange and collaboration.
