August 23, 2010 -- SuperGeo Malaysia today announced that Solar Energy Research Institute at National University of Malaysia (Malay: Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia, UKM) procured SuperGIS Desktop, the powerful desktop GIS software developed by SuperGeo Technologies.
Establish in 1970, UKM is one of the three research universities that Malaysian government is developing and promoting with a main focus. In the latest report by Quacquarelli Symonds in the UK, UKM ranks as one of the top 100 best universities in Asia.
Solar Energy Research Institute at UKM purchased SuperGIS Desktop along with several analyst extensions, such as 3D Analyst, Spatial Analyst, and Spatial Statistical, to process and analyze solar information on the desktop platform with visualization effects. The platform predicts and displays the potential solar energy distributed in different areas on maps
The procurement is contributed by SuperGeo Malaysia. The subsidiary company of SuperGeo Technologies has had great performance since its establishment. Localized service and technical support can be provided to assist local users better. According to SuperGeo, they will transfer more GIS technologies to the company in the near future.
