Spatialytics announces OpenGeo partnership

Spatialytics to provide expert, local support of OpenGeo Suite Enterprise to Francophone Quebec

Quebec City, Canada — June 21, 2010 — Spatialytics, a software and solutions company for Genuine and Open Source Geospatial Business Intelligence, and OpenGeo, producer of the OpenGeo Suite, today announced a reseller agreement that will bring the OpenGeo Suite – Enterprise Edition to the province of Quebec.

OpenGeo is well known for its contributions and leadership in the development and evolution of powerful open source geospatial technologies. The OpenGeo Suite offers a fully-integrated open source geospatial platform for serving maps and data through web applications, mobile devices, and desktop clients. The OpenGeo Suite Enterprise Edition is comprised of tested, integrated and supported geospatial components GeoServer, OpenLayers, GeoWebCache, PostGIS and GeoExt.

Spatialytics will assume the first line of support of the OpenGeo Suite, in French, for its local clientele while having privileged access to OpenGeo for second line support. Upon making the announcement, Luc Vaillancourt, CEO of Spatialytics said:

Sometimes, the most widely used technology in a given market is not necessarily the best. Quebec deserves a strong open source alternative and Spatialytics is delighted to take the opportunity to fill this gap.
