The goal of OpenPDK is to have an open and interoperable standard that will reduce the time and cost to develop, deploy, and maintain PDKs, enable greater market choice in supplier relationships, and minimize design environment disruption as PDKs are revised or replaced.
OpenPDKs will be based on standardized open technologies with backward compatibility, created through transparent, proven and robust standardization process by a broad coalition of stakeholders spanning the entire industry supply chain. OpenPDKs will utilize OpenAccess, OA scripting languages, OA schematic symbols, and standardized DFM rules.
