Software Helps Owner-Operators and Contractors Speed Mapping, Spatial Analysis, and Information Modeling of Airports

EXTON, Pa. – Bentley Systems, Incorporated, the leading company dedicated to providing comprehensive software solutions for the infrastructure that sustains our world, today announced the immediate availability of a Bentley Map V8i data model for airport information modeling that is compliant with Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) mapping guidelines. The new data model includes a comprehensive database schema, feature symbology libraries, and feature placement and editing rules that simplify the initial creation of, or migration to, an airport geographical information system (GIS) – accelerating the mapping, spatial analysis, and information modeling of airports.

The Bentley Map V8i airport data model includes support for more than 90 map features as defined by FAA Advisory Circular No: 150/5300-18B requirements. In addition to providing FAA-standards support, the configuration’s data model is cross referenced with the Aeronautical Information Exchange Model (AIXM), Spatial Standards for Facilities, Infrastructure and Environment (SDSFIE), and Federal Geographic Data Committee (FGDC). Bentley Map V8i also includes a project workspace, detailed FAA documentation, and a sample airport dataset.
