HOUSTON, TX -- (MARKET WIRE) -- May 11, 2010 -- Intergraph® CADWorx® Plant and Intergraph® CAESAR II® software helped Fichtner Consulting Engineers (India) Pvt. Ltd. solve design challenges on a large 300 MW combined cycle power plant, as described in a new Case Study from Intergraph CADWorx & Analysis Solutions. The project involved the plot plan, plant layout, process flow diagram isometric drawings, subsystem engineering, and steam pipe stress analysis, with 75 separate pipe runs of varying diameters, pressures and temperatures, that had to meet stringent codes and standards, all within a confined area. Fichtner used CADWorx Plant to develop the 3D model and interfaced it with CAESAR II for pipe stress analysis, while CADWorx Design Review provided project collaboration and review. The ISOGEN tool produced accurate isometric drawings and bills of material for fabrication directly from the 3D model, saving time and reducing material costs. The seamless integration between CADWorx and CAESAR II helped them reduce data inconsistency, avoid errors, and reduce overall project costs for the client.
