April 19, 20101 -- Spatial is pleased to report that its first INSPIRE training course was well received by a full house of delegates!
The INSPIRE training course, produced in partnership with Rob Walker Consultancy and RSW Geomatics Ltd, has been designed to cover key elements associated with INSPIRE policies, metadata, business opportunities, data management methodologies and technology solutions. The training is split into three modules to make it relevant for business managers, technical architects, data officers and systems analysts. All of the training instructors have been involved in consultancy and data management exercises for Legally Mandated Organisations and/or Spatial Data Interest Communities contributing to INSPIRE development across Europe.
The first course in the schedule, which ran 31st March and 1st April, was fully subscribed and received positive feedback from delegates. Attendee Christopher Muir from Registers of Scotland said after the course:
“Many thanks for an excellent and informative programme. Well organised and effectively run. I particularly appreciated the opportunity to discuss INSPIRE and its various implications with members of other organisations.”
Robin Waters, one of the course tutors, commented:
“Sharing and co-operation are at the heart of the INSPIRE process and if organisations are able to co-operate as well as the people on this course did then INSPIRE will be a great success! All participants were completely engaged with the learning process - everyone had something to offer.”
Forthcoming training dates for Q2 2010 are available now on the 1Spatial website and are scheduled for May and June. The first course was fully booked, so please book your place early for future training.
In addition to the new dates, 1Spatial is pleased to announce that the INSPIRE training course has also recently received Continuing Professional Development (CPD) Accreditation via the Association for Geographic Information (AGI) in the UK. This means delegates can pick up seven CPD points for the two-day course. For further information regarding this training course and to book your place please contact 1Spatial on
