NAVTEQ Intermediate Map of Peru now available from TELEMATICA S.A.

CHICAGO, March 24 — (PRNewswire) — NAVTEQ, the leading global provider of digital map, traffic and location data for in-vehicle, portable, wireless and enterprise solutions, announced today that it has established a reseller agreement with TELEMATICA S.A., a leading provider of geographic information system (GIS) tools and technology in Peru since 1986 and the official ESRI distributor in Peru.

As an authorized NAVTEQ distributor, TELEMATICA S.A. will have the ability to sell the NAVTEQ Intermediate Map of Peru. Additionally, TELEMATICA S.A. will specialize in bundling ESRI software and tools with NAVTEQ map data to provide comprehensive GIS solutions for end users. This reseller agreement marks the addition of TELEMATICA S.A. to a growing number of NAVTEQ map data resellers in South America.

NAVTEQ's Intermediate Map for Peru includes over 77,000 km of roads and approximately 12,000 POIs. Intermediate Maps are a separate class of map data provided by NAVTEQ to support customers who are interested in introducing LBS applications in emerging markets.  Allowing for basic route calculation, the Intermediate Map offering is an important tool for customers who need a faster time-to-market in key regions of the world.
