Montreal, March 17, 2010 – After Montreal, Blainville and Repentigny, the City of Saguenay has adopted JMap for the management of their mobile operations and snow removal.
« We are taking advantage of this year’s very little snow to provide public works and civil engineering with new tools to improve road management and security for the benefit of the entire municipality (311, 911 Services, Civil security…)». - Mr. Laval Claveau, Public works, City of Saguenay Quebec.
JMap integrates, in time and space, the location of equipment (GPS, RF...), its metric information (status, quantity, speed...) and operational data (sectors, priorities, work orders, resources...) with municipal and regional information (property information, address geobase...) in order to provide a complete view of the situation. JMap is a visual support for operational and strategic decision taking.
This solution is user-friendly and provides access to powerful tools for the planification, analysis and visualization of information. Location and geofencing functions allow municipalities a better management of their subcontractors and a real time image of work progress. Also, a 'Grand public' option makes it possible to show this work in progress to the citizens directly from the City’s Website or from a Web site hosted by K2 Geospatial.
